The objectives of the Australasian Study of Parliament Group are the encouragement and stimulation of research, writing and teaching about parliamentary institutions in Australasia and the South Pacific to generate a better understanding of these institutions.

The Group has branches in New Zealand and each State and Territory of Australia. It publishes the journal Australasian Parliamentary Review (formerly Legislative Studies). The New Zealand Branch runs between three and four seminars each year on a variety of topics. Speakers include Ministers, Members of Parliament, academics and journalists.

Details of forthcoming seminars for 2009 can be found on the Upcoming Events page.
